Camp Ooch is referred to as the social cure for kids with and affected by childhood cancer. We give kids the opportunity to be defined by who they are, not what they have. Camp Ooch is a place where kids can just be kids.
Ooch offers programs at:
- Overnight camp in Muskoka
- Pediatric hospitals and centres across Ontario, including Ottawa
- In Ottawa through day programs such as March Break camp, family programming and day trips
Ooch Muskoka offers all the fun of camp complete with swimming, singing, campfires, pottery, rock climbing and more. We are the only overnight camp in Canada to offer on-site IV chemotherapy and blood transfusions which allows us to take even the most medically fragile kids to camp.
We know that only 21% of kids with cancer in Ontario have access to an oncology camp. With your fundraising support we will close this gap.
We currently provide fun and friendship to over 50 campers from the Ottawa region. There is a demand to increase the number of programs we offer and the number of kids we are serving. More kids from Ottawa need more Ooch, more often.
As a privately funded, volunteer driven organization, donor support is crucial for our success. The funds raised through the Ottawa Sporting Life 10k will help send more kids from Ottawa to Ooch. Cancer changes a child’s life, but so does camp!
