The route starts and finishes on Colonel By Drive, at Echo Avenue, just west of the Bank Street Bridge. All participants will access the start/finish line area from Echo Avenue off of Bank Street.

Kit Pick-up Information
- Friday, May 10, 10:00AM-9:00PM
- Saturday, May 11, 9:00AM to 9:00PM
Where: Sporting Life Store at Lansdowne Park, (125 Marche Way, Ottawa, ON. K1S 5J3).
Why: You need to get your bib and shirt in order to be able to run. Come early to pick up your technical running shirt and run bib. Please note that shirt sizes cannot be exchanged and are not guaranteed, so please arrive early.
Sorry, there is no late/in-person registration at bib pick-up.
What you need to get your bib and shirt: IMPORTANT! All you need is your bib number, which will be emailed to you on Tuesday, May 7. You will also need to bring is a piece of photo ID or a printout of your registration email confirmation.
Picking up for a friend or having a friend pick up your bib and shirt for you: This isn’t a problem at all. If you are picking up a bib and shirt for a friend/friends, you must have their bib number. You will also need an e-mail stating you can pick up their bib and shirt on their behalf or a copy of their email registration confirmation.
Out of Towner’s: Run day bib pick-up is limited to those living outside of Ottawa/Gatineau area. Be sure to know your bib number on race morning as it will be very busy. Run Day Pick-up will be at the Sporting Life Store at Lansdowne Park: 125 Marche Way, Ottawa, ON. K1S 5J3, from 6:30AM until 7:30AM.
Corrals and Waves
To enable everyone to have the fastest and safest run possible, you will be placed in a start corral based on your estimated finishing time. You can change corrals through the Participant dashboard you created when you registered. You will not be permitted to change your corral on your dashboard after Wednesday, May 1. However, anyone can enter the 1:11+hr corral on run morning.

Timing: Sportstats will be timing this year’s race. We will be using the Mylaps BIBTAG Timing system to time your run. With this technology, your timing chip or “bibtag” is placed on the back of your race bib. It must be correctly worn on race day for your race time to be accurately captured.
- Do not remove the “bibTag” or foam spacer from your bib
- Do not fold your bib or excessively bend or twist the “bibTag”
- Wear your bib on your front. Do not wear it on your back, side, leg or arm. Remember, it’s “NO BIB = NO TIME!”

Course Restrictions / Limitations
Due to the large numbers of participants in the Sporting Life 10K Ottawa, and for safety and logistic reasons we regret that roller blades, bicycles, skateboards and dogs are not permitted in the run. All children 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult due to the size of the run. Children must be a minimum of 8 years old to participate as a registered runner. Children under 8 years of age can be a part of the event if they are in a stroller or in a baby jogger. If you are planning to participate in the run using a stroller, please enter yourself in the 4th wave (Green Corral). Children in strollers are free, however, as they are not registered participants, they will not receive a: run shirt, bib or finisher medal.
Getting to the Start Line and Parking
Arrive EARLY! Plan to arrive at least one hour prior to the start. Remember there will be 3,000 people in this event, so everything from toilets to driving will take longer than normal. There is limited parking at Lansdowne Park. We strongly recommend that you carpool, cab it or take the OC Transpo options.

Run Day Road Closures
The following roads will be closed on Sunday, May 12:
Colonel By Drive will be closed between Hog’s Back Road and Clegg Street (south of the intersection) between 5:00AM until 12:00PM. Echo Drive will be closed between Colonel By Drive and Bank Street between 5:00AM until 12:00PM.
Bag check will be held in the Horticultural Building at Lansdowne Park and will be open from 6:30AM – 7:30AM. You can check your bag for free, however a donation of $2 per bag is suggested with all proceeds going to Ooch.

2019 Finisher Medal
Medals and iTab
Every registered participant will receive a Finisher Medal at the Post Run Party located in Lansdowne Park. This is a wonderful way to remember the day! Customize your medal by ordering an iTAB, a small insert engraved with your name and finishing time that fits neatly into a recess on the back of your medal. Pre-order your engraved iTab online when you register. You will receive your iTab by mail within 6-8 weeks after the run.
Post Run Party/Family and Friends Reunion Area
Once you cross the finish line, proceed to Lansdowne Park for the Post Run Party where you will receive your finisher medal, food, water and sponsor offerings. This is also the location where you can meet your family and friends.
Walkers are welcome! PLEASE NOTE: A walker is considered someone who will be walking 100% of the run, not RUN/WALKING. The finish line will remain open until 10:30AM. This will allow everyone over two hours to complete the route, walking at a 12:00 min/km pace. Due to permit restrictions set out by the City of Ottawa, we are unable to keep the Finish Line open longer then 10:30AM in order to re-open the roads by 12:00PM.
Medical and First-Aid
There will be a First-Aid Tent at the Start/Finish Line and at the Party Site in Lansdowne Park. There will be medical personnel on bicycles along the route. Emergency Services may require access to the route in case of an emergency. We ask that you follow any EMS personnel instructions in case of an emergency to ensure that they are able to access the area as safely and quickly as possible.

- At Lansdowne Park
- At the Start/Finish area
- 4k Water Station
- 7k Water Station
Will be located at the start and finish areas, and at 4k & 7k Water Stations.
Zoomphoto.ca is the official race photography company and will have photographers at the start, several points on course, at the finish line and at the after race party. Post-race emails will be sent to participants with links to view and purchase their race photos. Be sure to take advantage of our Early Bird Discount!
