Volunteering At The Sporting Life 10K
2022 marks the 22nd anniversary of the Sporting Life 10K, an event with over 15,000 participants raising $2 million dollars for CAMPFIRE CIRCLE (formerly Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium).
The Sporting Life 10K could not happen without the energy, enthusiasm, kindness and commitment of more than 1,200 great volunteers. We hope you will join our volunteer team for this year’s event!

Ways You Can Get Involved
Event Week Opportunities – Tuesday, May 3 – Saturday, May 7
Event Week Kit Pick-Up
Volunteers hand out run t-shirts, bibs, and kits to our participants and answer their general questions about the Sporting Life 10K at the Sporting Life Store at 2665 Yonge Street, Toronto.
Event Day Opportunities – Sunday, May 8
Event Day Kit Pick-Up
Volunteers hand out run t-shirts, bibs, and kits to our participants and answer their general questions about the Sporting Life 10K.
Event Day Greeters – Start Line Area
We depend on our Greeters to welcome participants and provide general information about the Sporting Life 10K (e.g. the location of the water stations).
Event Day Baggage – Start Line Area
Start Line Baggage volunteers help participants load their gear onto baggage trucks that will deliver it to the finish area so it’s waiting for pick up when participants have completed the Sporting Life 10K. Once the trucks leave, the volunteers assist with clean up of the area.
Event Day Baggage – At Coronation Park
Baggage volunteers posted at finish line area help participants retrieve the bags they checked at the start of the Sporting Life 10K and then help clean up the area once the event is over.
Water Station volunteers are known to be the liveliest supporters on the route. They help participants stay hydrated and motivated by handing out water and cheering them on.
Route Marshals (18+ years of age)
Route marshals are stationed along the entire 10k route. They cheer, monitor and direct the participants and communicate with the public to ensure everyone has a safe and fun experience.
Finish Line (18 + years of age)
Finish Line volunteers cheer on the participants and keep them moving through the finish line area towards the party site. Because this is a very busy and crowded area, we are seeking volunteers 18 + years of age with a strong and clear voice.
Food Area at Coronation Park
Food Area volunteers help distribute post-event food to all our participants.
Can I bring a group to volunteer?
We love it when groups want to volunteer together. We have many areas of the Sporting Life 10K that are ideal for working along side your friends, teammates or work colleagues. More details are coming in February 2022. Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Sporting Life 10K.
